Year 1 Dev Diary

Creating a parkour movement system in Unity (Part 1)

Finishing the final game jam

Introduction

During my first year studying Computer Game Technology at the University of Portsmouth, I participated in the Code Studio module, which required the creation and maintenance of a dev-log. This dev-log would go over each project I'd contribute to over the year, then describe and reflect upon my performance.

These projects included three different game jams, with each one getting increasing more complex and impressive. My improvement as a game developer is apparent as you progress through each week, and my ability to reflect on my accomplishments grew.

Overall, I'm very proud of what I managed to accomplish during my first year at University, and I'm looking forward to seeing what I'm able to do over the next following years.
